Vaughan Williams and Holst: a
musical friendship.
WEA courses in Nottingham and Leicester
Tutor: Mike Wheeler
2008 marks the 50th anniversary of Vaughan Williams’ death. He and Holst
met as students in 1895 and remained close friends and colleagues until Holst’s

Bach and Walt Whitman, and the influence they had on each other’s work.
